Services | Environmental Training

A number of Peak Ecology staff have experience of running environmental training.

Several senior staff at Peak Ecology deliver training courses including Jonathan Brickland (Director, Derbyshire) and Carol Crawford (Technical Director, Strathclyde). Training has been provided for The Chartered Institute for Ecology and Environmental Management, Fountains Forestry, Peak District National Park Authority, OCS International Facilities Management Services, British Waterways, Flora Locale, Salix Homes, Scottish Natural Heritage and CBRE

Examples of training courses offered by Peak Ecology include:

Introduction to Ecological Risk Assessment. A one-day awareness raising course for estate workers, grounds’ maintenance staff, foresters and construction contractors.

Advanced Ecological Risk Assessment. A two-day course for those having completed the Introductory course but wanting a more in depth knowledge and understanding, often including supervisors, team leaders and regional managers.

Ecology and the planning system. This can be provided in various formats, with one-hour, half-day, full-day and two-day options available. For architects, landscape architects, local authority staff, land agents and planning and property consultants.

Compliance with wildlife law. Again, this can be provided in various formats with one-hour and half-day options being most popular.

Identification of woodland flora. This field-based day can also include ancient woodland indicator plants and common woodland bryophytes (mosses and liverworts).
