New Bat Survey Guide
The Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) have issued revised guidance “Bat Surveys for Professional Ecologists: Good Practice Guidelines (3rd edition)” at the start of 2016 following extensive feedback from different user groups. This guidance provides greater clarity on the level of survey effort required, highlighting that survey effort should take a proportionate approach to the level of predicted impacts. This is something that Peak Ecology has been advising clients of for many years.
It also provides additional information on “advanced licence bat survey techniques” and “data analysis and interpretation” to name but a few.
BCT has made the full document available to download as a non-printable PDF which can be found via their website; http://www.bats.org.uk/pages/batsurveyguide.html
