Specialist Teams | Boat Surveys

At Peak Ecology, our aquatic team has the skills and capability to undertake water-based surveys from both the shoreline/bankside habitats, as well as from boating craft.

On occasion a survey may need to be performed by boat, either as because the survey involves assessing riparian habitats from within the channel or within open water areas, or to assess building structures and bridges for bats, near to, or over watercourses, or when there is restricted access into a site.

Peak Ecology operate a small motor-powered rigid inflatable boat, and also have access to kayaks that can be used to enable us to complete surveys efficiently and safely on both sheltered inland waterways, including rivers lakes and canals, and sheltered coastal regions. All our powered boat operators are fully trained to Powerboat Certificate Level 2, accredited by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), and strictly adhere to RYA health and safety policy.
